Named for the person who wore the piece that inspired it: the Nils Doublet is a style I’ve been refining for years. This first release is made in gorgeous red cotton velvet and lined in salvaged materials. This means the linings vary depending on individual piece. Some have cotton sateen linings, some are hand dyed silk and some have mashru silk (a cotton and rayon blend). The buttons are hand cast pewter medieval replicas in a fascinating pyramid shape.

The body is cut flat with sloping side seams and a slightly curved front inspired by historical styles. This means that while it conforms to your body it has less of a dramatic chest to waist ratio. The peplum pieces flare out to fit over hips or fulls skirts and allow space for the functional pockets.
