Torn Dauphine Scrap Gown (S)
Torn Dauphine Scrap Gown (S)
Slightly less grand than her relative, the Torn Dauphine is also based on 18th century French court costume. Her bodice, skirt and sleeves are made of velvet, trimmed with over a decade of collected scrap fabrics. The ruffles are made of a myriad of silks, velvets, wool and cottons. The elbow length sleeves are dripping with silk and cotton flounces. I personally adore the silk velvet escelle bows on the bodice. The skirt can be supported by it’s tie in panniers, or they can be removed for a sleeker style. She absolutely has pockets!
The bodice is lined in cotton and the skirt in a silk patchwork. A mission of reclamation all it’s own!
The back lacing closure provides a degree of adjustability!
