Noli Me Tangere Ribbon Belt

Noli Me Tangere Ribbon Belt

from $60.00

This saying has biblical origins in the gospel of John, and was reimagined further in a poem by Sir Thomas Wyatt. Although different meanings have been translated from both of these sources, this time we have used it as a talisman for bodily autonomy. In a time where rights over people’s bodies are being controlled or stripped away, we wanted to bring new meaning to the phrase. Here ‘Noli me Tangere’ screams ‘Touch me Not’ to those who would strip away reproductive rights for people who should have the choice. Do not touch my body, for it is mine alone to govern.

Your belt (without buckle) can be gently washed by hand or on a delicate cycle and tumbled in a dryer on low heat. Iron on a medium setting from the back of the ribbon when it is wrinkled.

This belt is printed on top quality, soft, 2 inch petersham ribbon with the repeating phrase, “Noli me tangere.”

Currently only available as the ribbon belt.
it comes in two lengths:

65” inches for a shorter belt to be attached to a buckle

90” for a long trailing belt.

Buckles are available via the VoodoooDolly website VooDoooDolly.com

The buckle has been hand carved and cast in white bronze as a belt slide. It can be slid over the ribbon (or other 2 inch belt) and tied behind you, or sewn to one end of the ribbon then looped around the front. Each buckle is antiques with patina to bring out all the details and give it a well worn, ancient look. Please make a note in check out if you would like the ribbon end sewn to the buckle.
